Sales Engineer

Location: Vienna, Austria


The Sales Engineer will partner with our Head of Sales to bring in new opportunities, nurture leads and prospects, and orient our new customers for success. The Sales Engineer will be our Head of Sales' technical partner, bringing a deep understanding of our S3 & Kubernetes technologies, and how our technologies are differentiated from others on the market. The Sales Engineer will meet in person with customers to give technical demonstrations, and run proof-of-concept projects to help close deals.

Additionally, the Sales Engineer will seek to grow our existing accounts, identifying up-sell opportunities, and new sales opportunities within a customer's organisation.

As we are in our early days, the Sales Engineer will also play a role in product development and support. The Sales Engineer will advise the Head of Product on the various features & requirements needed by the market to gain adoption. The Sales Engineer will also assist with technical account management and support, ensuring that new customers are able to deploy and run our technology successfully.

Core Responsibilities
  • Generates new business and ensures growth of existing accounts.
  • Uses technical knowledge of our products to support and build sales.
  • Accompanies Head of Product to meetings with prospects to perform technical demonstrations, showing how our products can meet the prospect's needs.
  • Researches, creates, and presents sales decks showing prospects the benefits our products.
  • Assesses new markets, and new potential applications of our products.
  • Works closely with the Solutions Architect to offer solutions that meet customer needs.
  • Provides technical training to clients and communicates customer feedback for future product developments.
  • Provides technical pre-sales support for key prospects.
  • Run proof-of-concept projects to help close deals.
  • Assist Director of Business Development in managing relationships with System Integrators and other resale channels to ensure they are set up for success.
  • 5+ years work experience as a Sales Engineer, Solution Architect, or Technical Account Manager
  • Experience with S3 and Kubernetes technologies.
  • Experience with networking, firewalls, and security
  • Linux command line experience.
  • An ability to grasp customers’ needs and suggest solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience with building and presenting sales decks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in German & English
  • Experience with Python or a similar scripting language is a plus.
  • Experience with networking and SSL is a plus.
  • Preferred: BSc degree in Computer Science or relevant field.
